Track count, pocket depth, corner geometry, sill, drainage, panel size, glass weight and the questions to answer before ordering.
Track count comes first
Two-, three-, four- and five-track layouts change frame depth, panel arrangement and the wall condition. Decide how many panels move and where they stack.
Pocket depth is architectural.
Pocket sliders require enough wall depth for the frame, panels, drainage and finishes. Confirm the section before the structure and finishes are locked in.
Corners are not just two sliders meeting.
Corner systems require compatible configurations, corner engagement and structural/water detailing. Unequal legs need to be shown clearly on plans and elevations.
Panel size and weight matter.
Taller and wider panels increase glass weight and can affect roller capacity, handling, design pressure and approval limits.
Sill and drainage
Low/recessed sill aesthetics must be balanced with water management and the tested system. Terrace slope, drains and finished-floor elevation should be coordinated early.
Technical guides are educational. Current approvals, engineering, manufacturer documents and the project drawings govern the final product and installation.
