Impact Laminated Glass

Laminated impact glass uses bonded interlayers to retain broken glass after impact. The final makeup must match the tested window, door or storefront system and project approval.

Project use

Specify the makeup, not just the nickname.

Laminated impact glass uses bonded interlayers to retain broken glass after impact. The final makeup must match the tested window, door or storefront system and project approval.

The exact glass construction has to work with the tested frame or railing assembly. Thickness, heat treatment, interlayer, coating and fabrication details can all affect compatibility.

Confirm thickness

Nominal thickness and individual lite construction should match the selected system and engineering.

Confirm coating / tint

Low-E surface, substrate tint and exterior appearance should be identified before release.

Confirm fabrication

Holes, notches, polished edges and heat treatment should be coordinated before tempering/lamination.

Confirm application

Window, door, storefront and railing glass have different system-specific requirements.
